Haematology Examination of blood.
Hormone A chemical messenger formed in one part of the body and carried in the blood to other parts of the body where it stimulates or suppresses cell and tissue activity.
Hyper– Used as a prefix to mean excessive e.g. Hyperthyroid.
Hyperplasia Excessive growth of tissue.
Hypertrophy Excessive growth of an organ or tissue.
Hypo– Used as a prefix to mean deficient e.g. Hypothyroid.
Hypotension Lowered blood pressure.
