31 August 2005  £40,000 reward for missing dog
A couple worried about the whereabouts of their pet dog have raised a £40,000 reward for the person who finds it.

Diane and Roy Cousins from Bromley in Kent have taken the drastic measure of re-mortgaging their home and selling their wedding rings to help find Natasha, their 15 year-old Labrador-cross.

The pet has been missing since March, when workmen left a door open, and the couple fear the dog has been stolen.

Because of its age, the dog needs frequent veterinary attention.

The reward money on offer is believed to be the largest sum ever raised to relocate a missing pet.

Mr Cousins said: "In the long term it's going to be a small price to pay. My life has been turned upside down since the dog went missing. Diane has been going wild.

"If we can't get the dog back, then the aggravation is going to continue.

"I just want to get my life back to the way it was rather than spending 24 hours a day, seven days a week looking for Natasha," he concluded.
