16 September 2005 Plymouth pet confuses vets
The owner of a cat that was found in Plymouth, yet was registered to come from Holland, has come forward to claim her pet. Earlier this week, the cat was taken to Gables Farm Cats and Dogs Home and her microchip showed that she belonged to Dutch owners, according to BBC News.
The name on the chip read Ceefa, and vets presumed that this was a Dutch name.
The mystery of how she had got to Plymouth was solved when a local woman responded to press coverage to claim the pet.
The woman used to live in Holland, and the chip had been acquired there, before she and her former husband came to the UK in 2002.
Tony Harris, general manager of Gables Farm, commented: "It's a good result. It's what we aim for all the time. It's our main function as well as taking in all the stray cats and dogs of Plymouth."
