19 October 2005  Petowners go pampering crazy
A staggering 465 new products designed specifically for pets have been released across the world during 2005, new research has found.

Petowners are proving to be perfect fodder for more and more innovative and intriguing ideas as they seek to give their animals all they deserve.

The study, carried out by Mintel's Global New Products Database, shows that this year we have gone pet crazy as last year there were only a mere 291 new products launched.

David Jago, director of GNPD Consulting, commented: "For many pet owners, their animals are as loved and pampered as their own children, and deserve to be groomed and cared for with the best products."

But the best way to really make sure your pet is well looked after is to ensure that you have pet insurance, so that if your animal falls ill or goes missing, you are covered.

In the meantime, you can amuse yourself with products that range from nail varnish and colour highlights to perfume sprays and anti-stress cures.
