13 April 2006  Pet insurance that gives twice
Conscientious pet owners can now protect their own animals with pet insurance while helping other furry creatures-in-need, with a service on the website of rodent rescue charity, Cavyrescue.

The site now offers links to a number of pet insurance sites and for every policy which is sold through them the charity will receive a commission.

Co-founder of the charity, Jason Hulott, said: 'With pet insurance available from just a few pence a day, you can have the peace of mind your pet's health and welfare will be covered and, for every policy sold, CavyRescue will benefit, ensuring that we can continue our work with unwanted, abused and abandoned small furries well in to the future."

The charity also offers access to specialist insurance for small pets such as rats and guinea pigs, which despite their size can still run up huge vet bills.

The Vet Fee Insurance for small animals policy is available from 22 p per day through the Cavyrescue website.

Pet owners can also protect their animals and save on their pet insurance by ensuring their furry friends don't consume any chocolate this Easter, as the chemical theobromine contained in cocoa is poisonous to dogs, an RSPCA report states.
