13 August 2005 Owners fear for theft of rare dog
The owners of a rare dog are anxious for the return of their pet after it was stolen from their garden whilst they were still at home. Four-week old Coco is worth £2,000 and went missing from the garden of owner Lee Forman in High Green, Sheffield, according to Look Local.
It is another example of the worrying rise in dognapping incidents that has been seen in the UK, and shows just how important and valuable pet insurance can be.
The chocolate brown shar pei puppy was let out in to the garden at 06:15 one morning, but half an hour later could not be found.
"I have always liked this breed and she's such a rare dog. I think that's why she was stolen," said Mr Forman.
"No one ever comes down the back garden and there was absolutely no way she could have got out herself."
