16 August 2005 Dogs stolen after break-in
A break-in at Bath Cats and Dogs home has resulted in two dogs being stolen and many other animals being released. The two dogs that went missing were a Jack Russell and a westie cross, according to BBC News.
The dogs had been promised to new owners and were due to be re-housed soon. It is being presumed that the two dogs have been stolen.
The other animals that were released from their pens included several cats, four other dogs and eight baby rabbits.
The incident took place late at night when intruders pulled down a gate and broke in to two animal blocks, before staff were alerted by barking and security lights.
Jill Roynon, community fund-raiser, said: "We managed to round up the baby rabbits, because if they had escaped they would not have survived."
