02 February 2007  Dating for dog owners
While doting dog owners are happy to deal with the hassle of cleaning up after their pet, going on trips to the vets and purchasing dog insurance, the difficulty of meeting a prospective partner only to find they don't like the competition from your beloved pup could be heartbreaking.

A new dating website claims to be able to hook up similarly minded dog-lovers with one another, arguing that they shouldn't settle for less than meeting an equally canine-friendly partner.

Derek Collinson, of Doglover.biz, said: "Dog lovers male and female will find every conceivable match-making feature here to make that special connection with someone who shares their passion for dogs."

These features include chat rooms, blogs, instant messaging, social networks and audio and video upload.

In 2005, pet insurance provider Norwich Union revealed that 71 per cent of dog owners would choose ownership of their pet ahead of keeping their home in the event of a break up with their partner.
